Welcome to the first of what we hope will become our regular update from Fresh Horizons CNB.
Each month we’ll share stories, news, challenges, and opportunities to support the work we do and the people whose lives are being rebuilt through our services.
This month, we’d like to shine a spotlight on an incredible group of supporters who have taken on a challenge unlike anything they’ve done before.
In just six weeks’ time, five friends, namely Real Fast Racers will be tackling a Half Ironman. This is a huge test of endurance involving a 1.9km swim, followed by a 90km cycle ride, and finishing with a 21.1km run. It’s an extraordinary challenge, and remarkably, the nerves are holding as it’s something that no member of the group has attempted before.
Their organiser, Matt, explained why they have chosen to support Fresh Horizons CNB:
“We know that Fresh Horizons CNB is giving men a base, with stability and support to rebuild their lives. We appreciate that we have family and friends supporting us and we don’t take that for granted. We want to help give your residents the choices that many of them have never had.”
Like many charities, we are facing increasing financial pressures as external factors continue to affect fundraising and donations. At the same time, the need for our services has never been greater. Homelessness continues to rise, and more people are finding themselves in situations where they need our support.
The reality is that we couldn’t continue this work without the generosity of supporters, fundraising groups and individuals who choose to stand alongside us. It is true that every pound genuinely makes a difference so we can ultimately help our residents move forward and rebuild their lives.
We are incredibly grateful to all the Real Fast Racers team for taking on this challenge and supporting us. If you would like to donate please visit:

We’ll be sharing updates as they finish their training and complete their Ironman at Nottingham next month.
Thank you for being part of our community and for helping us make a difference.
